Vinyl Records Are Making A Major Recovery

With the invention of MP3s and selling the tracks individually, CD and other full album sales have dropped drastically. Analogue sound has become somewhat of a luxury today, and several people say it sounds a lot better than digital counterparts.  Even new artists have been putting their albums for sale on vinyl, improving its legitimacy in the marketplace much more than before.

The early 90s marked the near death of vinyl records altogether.  With sales at an all-time low, the format was near being eliminated completely to make way for growing CD sales.  Despite their downtime, vinyl records made an impressive comeback right when the music industry required it the most.  Around 2005, many of the younger generation began discovering vinyl for the first time.  Hearing music in its fully high quality analogue form has become a curious luxury, specifically since most listen to MP3s.  This popularity quickly was obvious in growing record sales, but took several years to explode.

Almost doubling in sales by 2008, vinyls continued to elevate in popularity.  Even Rolling Stones vinyl records  are being produced and sold, along with a quickly growing variety of vinyls from new artists.  The music industry has been in decline for some time, and the timing of the rising record sales could not have been better, since vinyl purchasers often buy music in both digital and analogue formats.  By 2011, the sale of vinyl near doubled again and the production of vinyl once again became a mainstay.

There are many different reasons and types of folks that buy vinyl records these days.  Exploring a new album is the biggest thing that the baby boomer generation likes about vinyl records.  The favorite album of vinyl hobbyists in 2010 was the time honored Beatles vinyl album Abbey Road.

Since it is often deemed the best medium to listen to, individuals that like high fidelity music turn to vinyl for the most true sound.  Many believe the procedure that the audio goes through when transformed into digital takes a good bit of the quality out.  While modern albums are actually transformed into analogue from digital, people still claim they can hear the acoustic difference.  There is a very different sound vinyl has compared to digital media, but the preference in quality is strictly up to the individual that hears everything.

It is perfect for everyone that vinyl is starting to become popular again, offering a great alternative to MP3s.  The days of paying for new artists are back, now that the record industry is capable of making a little bit more funds from vinyl album sales.
